E-Parking launches fundraising process for new social transportation app lead by IoT Latam in Chile

The social transportation app, E-Parking, was born to improve drivers’ lives, help save gas, and lower stress levels. The initiative was founded by Christian Aguilar from IoT Latam, the most prominent Internet of Things (IoT) consulting agency in Latin America, which has its headquarters in Santiago, Chile.

This disruptive app uses blockchain technology and the Internet of Things to solve several pressing societal issues by making parking costs more transparent, as well as improving the efficiency of the various parking systems in malls, universities, corporate offices, municipalities, parking lots, strip malls, and more.

E-Parking solves the problem of deciding which form of transportation to use in response to recent developments in alternative transportation through electro-mobility, ridesharing, bicycles, and scooters. The app provides optimized transportation suggestions based on availability of alternative mobility options, as well as traffic levels at the time of using the app, to provide the best possible outcome for the user.

Over the past few months, E-Parking has launched pilot projects in an effort to validate the model alongside global companies like IBM through their Chilean innovation lab, DoLab!, led by Ricardo Valdés, using IBM’s Watson technology and the Lorawan network. They have also worked with the Municipalities of Las Condes and Vitacura to help solve traffic jams and lower commuters’ stress at the time of deciding how to transport themselves from point A to point B.

E-Parking’s social vision is focused on resolving the stress of commuting by calculating the most efficient transportation method available, as well as helping drivers find parking.

“One chaotic example of a use for the app would be that a hospital would be able to know that someone is heading to the emergency room and could prepare beforehand for the arrival of a patient, not only leaving a parking space open, but also lowering the stress level of the driver who is carrying a critically-ill patient,” explained Christian Aguilar.

E-Parking recently confirmed that they will hold an “investment breakfast” in January 2019 led by Maximiliano Morales, Investment Broker for the business accelerator AgroWine Lab, to raise US$2M in a first round for the Chilean market, and US$8M for expansion to Colombia, Peru, and Mexico. Family offices, venture capital firms, and angel investors that are interested in IoT in Chile and internationally are invited to participate in the event.
