The Napa Valley is known as the most important wine area in the United States and in North America. Great wines and wineries such as Charles Krug Winery, Chateau Montelena, Mondavi or Beringer, are some of the more than 300 wineries, mostly family estate, that produce a wide variety of qualities of wines from grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel and others.
During the #CaliforniaWineExploration we visited the Peju, Mondavi and Flora Springs wineries, enjoying a wide variety of wines and gastronomy qualities that made this trip an incredible adventure.
After this tour, we visited Winters where we taste interesting wines in the Sacramento Valley of Berryessa Gap Winery, and begin the return to Chile to take the flight back to Santiago.
The choice of where to stay was not easy, but we decided to spend the last night at The On Inn First, a bed & breakfast that was located in a traditional neighborhood of the city of Napa, and very close to the places we wanted to meet at this stage of the trip.
From the first moment when making the reservation, the owners gave all the necessary information to live an unforgettable experience. An old remodeled luxury house, a living room that invited to read and stay forever, and the room that was steps from the main house.
The mansion was built in 1905. Only three families have lived, before becoming one of the most exclusive Bed and Breakfast Inn in Napa. Between 2002 and 2003, the renovations were carried out to have 5 rooms on the second floor, private bathrooms in each, whirlpool baths and gas fireplaces.
In 2003, a building was built towards the backyard where there are three more suites with private terraces (Meritage, Incantment and Heritage Estate) and two extra large suites (Noble Vineyard, Vintage Reserve) known as the honeymoon suites in the second floor. Whirlpool tubs for two, adding gas fireplaces in all rooms.
Every room in the house has something special. In the case of “Heritage Estate” it is a special with all the facilities for people with a physical disability or ADA = “Americans with Disabilities Act”, which has a king bed, large shower with a seat and everything you need to do of the stay a wonderful experience, with special access for parking and the mansion.
All rooms at The Inn On First are prepared to receive two people, and for those visitors with children over 12 years old, there are two rooms (Noble Vineyard and Vintage Reserve) that have an additional bed, charging additionally USD 50 per day.
The mansion has a “Dog Friendly” policy, but it has a limited space.
Remember that the neighborhood is residential, and it is a house and not a hotel, and this has created a special attention from its owners so that visitors enjoy as if they were at home.
We were surprised by the wide variety of offers for The Inn on First customers, and on their website you can find different options for couples with discounts and promotions thanks to their gift cards, reaffirming the importance for their owners of creating a bond with their passengers that is in time.
Among the available promotions, it is to be able to enjoy a morning massage with a continental breakfast for the couple that visits the hotel, all complemented with a bottle of a sparkling wine directly to the room.
Among the complementary services, Jemy Cherry offers a shuttle service to visit wineries during your stay.
Very close to the house, is located Compline Wine Bar, where you can enjoy excellent wines and gastronomy. Very recommended.
