Chateau Vosne-Romaneé bets on Bio Bio Valley

Wine Real Estate | Edit
After many years betting on the production of premium wines in Chile, the French viscount Louis Michel Liger-Belair decided that he will make wine in Bio Bio Valley.
Thus, Chateau Vosne-Romaneé, one of the producers of the most expensive wines in the world, finished his exhaustive search of the best place to make wine. This couldn’t be done without the help of his partners Francois Massoc and Pedro Parra, professionals of an extensive experience
at both national and international level.
Five years ago, they began the search of the best lands to make an outstanding wine under the name of Aristos. As they said to Andeswines.com, they found this place in Bio Bio, reinforcing the
historical concept of the region as the first winemaking area of Chile since the Spanish conquest.
“Massoc & Parra have advised the most important wineries of Chile (e.g. Montes, Concha y Toro, Lapostolle, Undurraga, Chateau Los Boldos, among others). In this way, they will focus their efforts in the region, concentrating most of their work in Concepcion, the second largest city in Chile. Considering the worldwide importance of Viscount Belair’s decision of making wines in the region, Bio Bio will be positioned in an international level rapidly”, as pointed out the marketing consultant Maximiliano Morales.
According to Francois Massoc, “We choose Bio Bio to develop Aristos because of its high diversity of terroirs, climates, landscapes and potential. In this region you won’t find only excellent places to produce premium level grapes (basis of a premium level wine) but also you can do a whole product to charm the clients. Furthermore, Bio Bio is a beautiful and historical region.
This is one of the first places where premium wines were produced in South America, it was the frontier of Araucania, it was the cradle of the greatest poets and musicians of Chile (Neruda,
Arrau, Parra, etc.). Here, our independence and every revolution made in the country were born. For that reason, we want to revolutionize the wine industry from here. Aristos has a noble,
romantic and dreamer basis, but also a technical and scientific basis… artisanal after all. Two of its founders were born here and they believe in the region (with technical, scientific and sentimental arguments).”
Nowadays the partners of Aristos started the search of investors to begin the planting process and establishment of the winery in the region. In this way, they are confirming the big bet that they are doing in the southern region of Chile.
